DID YOU KNOW?
Dr. Andrew Smith conducts medication studies for pharmaceutical companies (clinical trials) in addition to his regular practice. If you are interested in learning about the clinical trial process and participating in studies, or want more information about currently enrolling studies, please speak to Holly, DeAnn, or Sandy in the Research Department (Suite 202).
REASONS TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLINICAL (MEDICATION) TRIAL!
Here are a few good reasons to participate in a clinical trial:
- You may have the opportunity to try a new medication before it is marketed for general use.
- Investigational medication studies Dr. Smith conducts are safe, and the medications are generally well tolerated. (You will not be among the first groups of people to try the drug.)
- You may be reimbursed for time and travel for completed visits.
- You may have the opportunity to learn more about your condition and how to manage it more effectively
- Many people who do clinical (medication) trials here are “repeats” – they have done prior medication studies and have enjoyed the process.
